The Moving Coil instrument is only available for audio groups with Mono or Stereo signals and can be used instead of the PPM instrument with bargraph display. It features a genuine emulation of various moving coil level meter types.

Using the modes PPM (1) with different selectable British scales or VU (2) with adjustable lead, the L and R channels of a stereo signal can be displayed in one single (L/R or M/S) or two separate moving coil instruments. If two separate instruments are used, they may be displayed in horizontal or vertical arrangements (see examples).
Similar to this, mode Loudness with a scale according to the selected loudness standard can be used when licence SW20002 is activated.

With SW20002, mode PPM + Loudness provides a combination of stereo PPM and summed loudness meter (BBC mode) (3). This kind of instrument includes the PPM with different selectable British scales and its two needles for L (red) and R (green) in horizontal dual arrangement and an additional scale with a cyan-coloured needle to display one of the selectable summing loudness values M, S or I. The center of the fixed relative loudness scale (–9 to +9) represents the target level of the selected loudness standard, the green marked section the tolerance range.
