Overall Loudness Across Groups

The example shows a possible arrangement of the Loudness instrument for the cross-group total loudness measurement of immersive surround signals
Loudness Sum (left), LRA (middle), Loudness Num (right)

The instruments shown in the example are described in detail in the "Software Licence SW20002 Loudness and SPL Display" section.

Together with the activated "Software Licence SW20015 ISA - Immersive Sound Analyzer", they can also be used in the audio group including the Immersive domain as parent group to measure the combined total loudness of the audio groups for the Main Bed and the Upper Bed.

Thereby the Loudness Sum instrument (left) measures the combined total loudness of the Main Bed and Upper Bed audio groups and displays the Momentary, Short Term and Integrated values on up to three bargraphs.

The Loudness Num instrument (right) shows these and the further values LRA, TPmax, Smax, Mmax and Itime of the cross-group measurement on a numerical display. Exceedings of maximum values in the immersive sound image can easily be detected.

Finally, the LRA instrument (middle) provides detailed information about the combined Loudness Range of the layers and thus about geh loudness dynamics of the immersive audio program, also related to the I value as shown in the example.
